Disaster in Japan

As I'm sure many of you know, earlier today Japan was hit with an earthquake and a tsunami. From this moment, 4 million homes have been know to hit as well as three nuclear power plants. Fortunately, the cooling system for 2 of those plants have kicked in, leaving one in a dangerous state as of now. Right now 63 people are confirmed killed, 56 are missing and those numbers are expected to rise greatly. The coast is covered by an immense tide which is 16 - 6 meters deep. It is the seventh most powerful earthquake in recorded history. I'm sure the Japanese people would like to be in your prayers, and best of wishes to everyone else.

  1. Well at least they have great technology against quakes... Great they had that.

  2. It's so astonishing, the sheer magnitude of that earthquake. I've never felt anything like that in my life, even though I live in California, a place I thought was earthquake central.

  3. Its hard to think of all the horror that is going on in Japan right now, meanwhile I just sit in my bedroom nothing at all wrong here.. Where some kid my age is now homeless, possibly all alone with no family left and not knowing what will happen to him.

I hope that everything turns for the better over there asap.

    Nice blog man, followed.

  4. There are some real heroes over there right now, after most of the staff, and surrounding area has been evacuated, 50 staff members are still working to regain control over the situation. Even in the best case scenario where nothing else goes wrong and everything is contained, these people are still being exposed to pretty high amounts of radiation as at least one, probably more, containment area for used rods has been exposed.

  7. Eh, I've been slowly writing on all that natural disaster stuff.

I'm still trying the to grock the communication breakdown that occurred in towns like Minamisanriku where it took a few days to realize that 10,000 some residents of that town were probably dead.
